Overview
The Asian Century
As countries throughout Asia continue to boast vibrant democracies and growing markets, their influence on the world markets cannot be underestimated. In fact, many economists predict that in the next 40 years or so, Asia will lay claim to three of the four largest economies in the world. This expected dominance in both politics and culture has led the 21st century to be dubbed "The Asian Century." Paul Hastings was one of the first firms to establish a presence in Asia. We understood the importance of this market early on and today remain one of the largest U.S.-based firms operating in the region. Our continued growth reflects our recognition of Asia’s increasingly prominent role in the world’s economy. We are a fully integrated international firm. Our lawyers work closely with their colleagues cross practice and cross border to leverage our expanding global platform and ensure we provide the highest quality of service to our clients, whether they are based in Asia or are seeking access to Asian markets and investors. We are proud of our leadership in the region and the high profile, exceptional work we have done for our clients. Click here to read more about our innovative work. Our History in Asia
Paul Hastings’ rich history advising clients on the complexities of transactions in Asia makes us one of the most successful and experienced U.S. firms in the region. We were one of the first U.S.-based firms to expand into Asia with the opening of our Tokyo office in 1988. Since then, the firm continued to grow steadily and significantly strengthened its presence with offices in Hong Kong, Beijing, and Shanghai. Today, Paul Hastings is the second-largest U.S. law firm in the region, providing clients with a wide range of international, multi-jurisdictional legal services, whether they are based in Asia or are seeking access to Asian markets and investors. Our highly skilled, multilingual lawyers are often called upon to advise on some of the region’s most significant deals, covering a range of transactions and industries. Our innovative work contributes to our market-leading reputation and continues to receive recognition from the industry.Publications
