Alan S. Cohen is a partner in the corporate practice of Paul Hastings in New York. His principal areas of practice include partnership law, joint ventures, public and private placements of limited partnership interests, syndications and state securities law. Mr. Cohen has participated in transactions which have raised over $6.0 billion from investors and involved the acquisition of more than $12 billion of properties.

Mr. Cohen represents Centerline in connection with its offerings of interests in private partnership funds structured for corporate and institutional investors and public partnership funds structured for individual investors. Centerline’s funds invest in various partnerships which own properties receiving the benefits of affordable housing tax credits and historic rehabilitation tax credits. He also represents Centerline in its placements of equity and debt in properties benefiting from tax credits.

Mr. Cohen graduated from George Washington University in 1975, and New York Law School, cum laude, in 1978 where he was an editor of the Law Review. His bar association activities have included the drafting of the New York Revised Limited Partnership Act and Limited Liability Company Law. He has participated in lectures given throughout the country in issues involving federal and state affordable housing and historic rehabilitation tax credits.
