Programs
At Paul Hastings, we offer many exciting opportunities for professional development and growth. Our attorney development programs are geared toward helping all of our legal professionals attain the excellence that our firm demands. Within that scope, we place extra emphasis on ensuring that our women and diverse lawyers participate in opportunities that will help them develop professionally.
Paul Hastings Attorney Networks
Paul Hastings Attorney Networks (PHANs) are employee resource groups that promote inclusion and communication for lawyers across diverse backgrounds, experiences, and interests. Currently, there are 19 attorney networks that serve as a resource for lawyer dialogues, events, mentoring, and professional development:

Women’s Initiatives
Paul Hastings provides global support for women’s organizations, special events, and programs that expand opportunities for women in business and practice. Recent firm-sponsored programs include:
- The Women’s Forum for the Economy and Society, the largest gathering of female leaders in the world
- The Catalyst Awards Dinner attended by 1,500 professionals to support Catalyst’s mission to be a “resource for research, information and advice about women at work.”
- The Kang Tongbi Symposium: Women Changing China, co-sponsored with Barnard College in Beijing
- A global sponsorship of Women Corporate Directors, with female partners participating at national and regional events
The firm also offers 18 weeks of paid maternity leave for birth and adoptive parents, alternative work schedules for associates and of counsels, and an unlimited time-off policy to help balance work and life.
Associate International Exchange Program
The Associate International Exchange Program provides U.S. and international associates training through broader experience, as well as exposure to specific Paul Hastings practice areas and the global nature of our practice. First-rate training and development of associates' abilities, knowledge, and skills directly increases retention of our top talent.
