How to Effectively Manage Your Universe of Electronically Stored Information from Start to Finish (CLE Program)

Thursday, December 03 12:30 PM EDT to 1:30 PM EDT

Data volumes in litigation are reaching epic proportions.  Even for routine, smaller matters, the amount of data that may be potentially responsive can be enormous.  Counsel confronting such large data sets often struggle to craft a reasonable and robust enough process to ensure relevant data is properly preserved and maintained, while excluding unnecessary information.  This CLE will cover a number of current key data management topics including, but not limited to: (i) effectively managing large data volumes to increase efficiency and lower costs; (ii) handling the retrieval of data from non-traditional data repositories like mobile devices and personal networking platforms; (iii) methods for narrowing data sets and limiting the collection of irrelevant material; (iv) best practices for retrieving data from vendors, law firms, and other third parties after a case has concluded.  The presentation will also discuss several recent key judicial decisions by courts grappling with these issues.
