PLI's "From the Trenches" is all about the best part of litigation - the trials themselves. The program will focus on critical issues and strategies raised in the most significant white collar, regulatory and civil fraud trials of the prior year. Come inside the courtroom with the litigators on the front line who were involved in these cases, including attorneys from the U.S. Department of Justice and the SEC, prominent defense counsel, and federal judges. They’ll share the real life successes and failures of the highest profile trials of the year, including the cases of United States v. Michael Steinberg (insider trading), SEC v. Fabrice Tourre (securities fraud), United States v. Mathew Martoma (insider trading), SEC v. Steffes et al. (insider trading), Chevron Corporation v. Donziger et al. (civil RICO action), and United States v. Bank of America et al. (civil fraud).

The panelists will analyze trial strategies, jury selection, hostile witness testimony, unpredictable moments, the best and worst trial techniques, opening and closing statements, and much more. Our stellar faculty of judges and practitioners will also impart the valuable lessons they’ve learned from these trials. Finally, in-house counsel whose companies are caught in the midst of trials will discuss how they handle the myriad of complexities and consequences that high profile trials can bring.
