February 07, 2006

Washington, D.C. (February 7, 2006) Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker LLP (Paul Hastings), a leading international law firm, is pleased to announce today that 11 lawyers previously with the firm of Dickinson Landmeier LLP, will join the Firms Litigation Department, resident in the Washington, D.C. office. Tim Dickinson, senior partner at Dickinson Landmeier, and his colleagues are leading experts in the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, including compliance, investigations, and defense. Dickinson will become the leader of Paul Hastings political risk insurance coverage and dispute practice. Tim is also an adjunct professor at the University of Michigan Law School and a former Chair of the International Law Section of the American Bar Association. Paul Hastings continues to expand in our premier international practice areas, said Jamie Wareham, the Global Chair of Paul Hastings Litigation Department. The expertise of this new group of lawyers complements our existing complex litigation capabilities, particularly in the area of Foreign Corrupt Practices Act investigations, compliance, and economic sanctions. Our new colleagues also add depth to our political risk insurance coverage and international arbitration practices. The addition of Dickinson Landmeier will allow us to even better serve our global client-base in complex, Board level matters. We are excited to join the global platform at Paul Hastings. We believe that the international reach of Paul Hastings will enable us to provide capabilities for our clients that we have not been able to deliver from our boutique setting, stated Tim Dickinson. The international regulatory practice we have developed in the areas of FCPA, ITAR and OFAC should all be enhanced by the group joining Paul Hastings, along with the additional resources we will be able to bring to our clients in the regulatory, commercial and specialized work we perform in areas such as political risk. Now more than ever our clients recognize the importance of Washington, D.C. as a key hub in any transaction. They are finding that the regulatory aspects of their expansion plans can dramatically impact their financial performance, said Barbara Brown, Washington D.C. Office Chair. As a result, Paul Hastings D.C. office has experienced tremendous growth over the last year. We are now over 100 attorneys and recently moved to a larger location in the landmark Bowen Building. We will continue to add top talent to all of our departments in order to further serve our clients on a local and international level. Tim Dickinson and Lisa Landmeier, and their entire team come to Paul Hastings after spending nine years with their own firm, Dickinson Landmeier LLP. Their practice is global in scope. They have handled significant matters in Asia, Europe, the Middle East, South America and the United States including matters on behalf of Fortune 50 companies.
