Paul Hastings Advises HOPU Investments on Strategic Partnership with COFCO Meat

Beijing (June 13, 2014) - Paul Hastings, a leading global law firm, announced today that the firm represented HOPU Investments Co. Ltd (“HOPU Investments”) as one of the investors in the formation of a strategic partnership with COFCO Meat, one of the largest hog producers in China.

The investor consortium also included KKR, Baring Private Equity Asia and Boyu Capital, which will invest in COFCO Meat alongside its existing shareholders to build and manage large-scale industrialized hog farms and meat processing plants in China.

HOPU Investments is a China-focused private equity firm with an international investment platform that has a focus on the consumer, natural resources, and financial services industries.

The transaction was led by partner Nan Li.
