New York -- Paul Hastings LLP, a leading global law firm, announced today that Frank Lopez, a capital markets and leveraged finance lawyer has joined the firm as co-head of the global Capital Markets practice and a partner in the Leveraged Finance practice in New York. His arrival continues the strong flow of new corporate partner additions in the London, New York and Bay Area offices of Paul Hastings.

“We’ve built market-leading Leveraged Finance and Capital Markets practices across our global network through developing our people and adding top-tier talent like Frank,” said Seth Zachary, chairman of Paul Hastings.

“I have been impressed with Paul Hastings’ growth in leveraged finance and capital markets,” said Lopez. “I am looking forward to working with lawyers across the firm and helping to build on Paul Hastings’ strong investment banking relationships,” he added.

Lopez represents investment banks, sponsors and issuers in domestic and cross-border buyouts, refinancings, recapitalizations and equity capital markets deals. Chambers USA has lauded Lopez for being “innovative in putting structures together and aggressive in getting deals done.” The Legal 500 US has singled out Frank as “one of the sharpest corporate lawyers on Wall Street“ and “one of the best capital markets attorneys in the nation with a wide-ranging skillset in corporate finance, including initial public offerings, convertible bonds and high yield bonds.” Lopez’s arrival follows the recent addition of two leading anti-corruption and FCPA practitioners, Matt Herrington and Tom Best, in Washington, D.C. office, derivatives partner Joyce Xu in New York, and several additions in Palo Alto, including private equity partner Alex Kaufman, M&A partner Bill Choe, and a team of lawyers including M&A partner Jason Rabitt-Tomita in Palo Alto.

The Global Leveraged Finance and Capital Markets practices at Paul Hastings have recently advised on several high-profile transactions, including $5.5 billion of high yield notes issued in connection with Altice USA, Inc.’s combination of Suddenlink and Optimum; KKR’s $1.275 billion agreed acquisition of MYOB Group Limited; Bain portfolio company, Aveanna Healthcare’s agreed acquisition of Maxim Healthcare Services; Starwood Energy’s $1.23 billion acquisition of gas turbine power plants from Dominion Energy; and the $912 million IPO of Jose Cuervo – the largest IPO out of Mexico since 2013.

At Paul Hastings, our purpose is clear — to help our clients and people navigate new paths to growth. With a strong presence throughout Asia, Europe, Latin America, and the U.S., Paul Hastings is recognized as one of the world’s most innovative global law firms.
