Lawyers Alliance Awards Paul Hastings for Pro Bono Service

The Lawyers Alliance for New York honored Paul Hastings with the Cornerstone Award at their annual awards ceremony. The award recognizes excellence in pro bono legal service to nonprofit groups working to improve neighborhoods throughout New York City.

Paul Hastings Partners with KIND to Aid Immigrant Children

Developed by Microsoft and actress/UN Goodwill Ambassador Angelina Jolie, KIND is a “pro bono coalition movement of law firms, corporate law departments and NGOs committed to providing fair, competent and compassionate legal counsel to unaccompanied immigrant children in the U.S.” Paul Hastings dedicates several thousand pro bono hours to KIND annually, with attorneys from across the firm donating their time and legal expertise to help children find a safe and happy home in the United States.

Paul Hastings is going above and beyond the call of duty to help unaccompanied children in the United States. The firm has taken on many cases, and, without regard to the potential relief available, its attorneys have worked relentlessly to ensure that their child clients are provided high-quality legal representation and are active and informed participants in their proceedings.

“Working with children in any context makes you realize how vulnerable they are,” says Brian Moran, who helps coordinate Paul Hastings’ pro bono work with KIND along with Daniel Blaser in New York. “But with the kids we’re seeing through KIND, it’s so much more apparent. No child should have to go through immigration proceedings alone.”
