Attorneys Join the Hurricane Katrina Disaster Assistance Service CenterMembers of the New York office assisted the City Bar Justice Center’s Hurricane Katrina Relief efforts by staffing the Legal Help Desk at the Disaster Assistance Service Center (DASC). Each week, Paul Hastings volunteers traveled to the New York City Office of Emergency Management’s Disaster Assistance Service Center to conduct a detailed intake of evacuees’ legal issues, providing information and referrals. Attorneys from Paul Hastings’ New York office are now also handling individual cases stemming from the disaster relief intake process. |
World Vision Teams with Paul Hastings in School Supply DriveThe New York office coordinated with World Vision (www.worldvision.org), a relief and development organization, to sponsor a backpack drive for inner city children and families, as well as teachers who face the burden of meager educational resources. |
Attorneys and Staff Help Brighten New York City SchoolLed by Partner Kenneth Friedman, individuals from Paul Hastings arrived in the rain at P.S. 15 Roberto Clemente Elementary School as part of New York Cares Day, a program that helps enhance and brighten inner-city schools. Working together on the third floor of the school, the Paul Hastings team transformed the once bare blue walls into murals displaying the colors and animation of marine life. |
