Alan J. Brudner is a partner in the Litigation practice of Paul Hastings in the New York office. Mr. Brudner focuses his practice on securities litigation, government and regulatory investigations, and internal investigations.

Prior to joining Paul Hastings, Mr. Brudner was a Managing Director and the Head of Litigation & Investigations at UBS Investment Bank, Americas, where he oversaw the firm's litigation, arbitrations, dispute resolution, enforcement matters, regulatory investigations, and internal investigations. He also served for five years as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Southern District of New York, Criminal Division, where he specialized in the investigation and prosecution of securities, mail, wire, bank and customs frauds, money laundering, and other white-collar criminal matters.

Mr. Brudner is a member of the American Bar Association, the Federal Bar Council, and the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, on which he serves on the Securities Litigation Committee. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the City Bar Fund, Inc., which provides guidance and oversight for certain programs, including the City Bar Center for Justice, that make advocacy, representation and other legal services available to persons in need.

Mr. Brudner began his legal career as a law clerk for United States District Judge Sidney M. Aronovitz in the Southern District of Florida. He received his J.D. in 1983 from New York University School of Law, where he received the Judge Abraham Lieberman Award for Outstanding Scholarship in Criminal Law. He also served as Managing Editor of NYU Law School’s Annual Survey of American Law. Mr. Brudner received his A.B. in English and Economics in 1979 from Vassar College, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and was awarded the Eleanor H. DeGolier Prize for Academic Excellence. Mr. Brudner is a member of the bar in New York and New Jersey.
