Brett W. King is a partner in the Corporate practice of Paul Hastings and is based in the firm’s Hong Kong office. He represents banks, financial institutions, private equity and debt funds, and strategic sponsors in acquisition and project and leveraged finance transactions in Asia, including leveraged buyouts and structured M&A financings. Mr. King has lived in Hong Kong for over 18 years and participated in some of the first U.S.-style leveraged buyouts completed in the region.

buyout conducted solely with a US syndication, and required extensive
regulatory and collateral considerations with respect to Singaporean securities
requirements. The firm advised Morgan
Stanley, Credit Suisse, DBS, Goldman Sachs, KKR Capital, Macquarie, Mizuho, and
Natixis as joint lead arrangers and bookrunners, in the financing for IBC
Capital Limited’s acquisition of Goodpack Limited, a Singapore publicly-listed
company and affiliate of, leading global investment firm, KKR. The financing
consisted of a $520 million first lien term loan facility, a $85.5 million
first lien revolving facility, a $13.5 million first lien stand-alone letter of
credit facility, and a $170 million second lien term loan facility.
