SEC Issues Guidance on the Use of Company Web Sites

The Securities and Exchange Commission (the SEC) has issued a new interpretive release (the Release) that provides additional guidance on the use of company web sites under the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 (the Exchange Act) and the antifraud provisions of the federal securities laws. The guidance expands on various interpretive releases and guidance previously issued by the SEC. The guidance in the Release became effective on August 7, 2008.
