This StayCurrent bulletin addresses the impact of the Dodd-Frank Act on mortgage businesses. As the provisions of the Dodd-Frank Act will broadly impact the mortgage industry, the term “mortgage business” is intended to be interpreted broadly to encompass a broad range of industry participants, including state-licensed mortgage brokers and lenders, state and federally chartered banks and thrifts with mortgage operations, and mortgage servicers.
