Overview
Abril Villegas is an International Associate in the International Arbitration team of Paul Hastings LLP, and based in the Washington, D.C office. Prior to joining Paul Hastings, she worked for over six years at a leading Central American law firm on arbitration matters and commercial litigation with a particular focus on Latin America. Throughout this period, from 2021-2023 she served as member of the Board of Directors of the Costa Rican Bar Association and held the role of Director and Editor of the Bar Law Review.
Abril holds an LL.M. degree from Columbia University, and a law degree from De La Salle University. Additionally, she received a Diploma in International Commercial Arbitration from the American University Washington College of Law, an International Arbitration Certificate from Leiden University and the Permanent Court of Arbitration. She is a certified Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (MCIArb) and a current member of ArbitralWomen.
Abril is a Spanish native speaker fluent in English and Portuguese.
