Overview

David Templeton is an associate in the Structured Credit practice and is based in the firm's Washington, D.C. office. His practice focuses on securitization and structured finance, with an emphasis on collateralized loan obligation transactions. 

David's practice is focused on representing underwriters, issuers and collateral managers in broadly syndicated collateralized loan obligations (CLOs), warehouse lending facilities and other structured finance transactions. Prior to joining Paul Hastings, David worked in the New York office of a peer firm and advised clients in private equity/public M&A transactions, technology transactions, restructurings and general corporate governance.

David earned his J.D. with honors (Thurgood Marshall Scholar) from The George Washington University Law School, where he served as a member of the Federal Circuit Bar Journal, and as junior fellow in finance and governance Research at the Center for Law, Economics & Finance. During law school he also interned with the U.S. Department of Justice, Tax Division — Civil Trial Section, and as an honors legal intern with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Division of Enforcement. David was chosen as a leadership fellow by the D.C. Bar and was also named law student liaison to the American Bar Association's Antitrust Section. David is admitted to practice law in the District of Columbia and in New York.
