Overview
Ibrahim Haroon is an associate in the International Arbitration practice in the London office. He advises clients in complex disputes in a variety of sectors, with particular focus on the construction, energy and technology industries. Ibrahim has represented clients from Europe, Middle East and Africa in major international arbitrations, including ICSID, ICC, LCIA, UNCITRAL and ad hoc arbitrations.
He writes and speaks on topics related to international arbitration, costs and litigation funding, and he delivers training at the Africa Arbitration Academy, London.
In addition, Ibrahim is committed to providing pro bono assistance, particularly in matters pertaining to fundamental human rights and social justice.

- An African state in an ICSID arbitration pursuant to a bilateral investment treaty against an English investor regarding alleged expropriation of lithium and critical minerals mining projects.
- An African state in an LCIA arbitration regarding the privatization of an aluminium smelter company.
- A West African state in an ICC arbitration concerning the construction of large-scale, multimillion-dollar housing facilities.
- One of the world’s largest shipping container lines in two LCIA arbitrations relating to a shareholder dispute and ancillary dispute linked to a major African port facility.
- A country in the Causcasus region in relation to multiple potential English and Azerbaijani proceedings in connection with high-value energy contracts and related relief event and force majeure disputes.
- An intergovernmental organization within the UN system in an UNCITRAL arbitration in a dispute relating to service agreements.
- A leading Nigerian energy company in LCIA arbitrations regarding a shareholder dispute.
- A state-owned national energy company of Qatar in potential shareholder and ancillary disputes.
