Paresh Kumar is of counsel in Paul Hastings’ Life Sciences Transactions practice in Boston. He brings a hybrid clinical, financial and legal perspective to advising life sciences companies and investors on strategic transactions and corporate matters.
Paresh brings over a decade of experience spanning private equity investing, pharmaceutical R&D finance and legal practice, including board observer roles at multiple biotech companies and R&D finance leadership at a global pharma. This background informs an integrated scientific, financial and legal perspective on executive and board-level decisions.
His work focuses on strategic transactions and related corporate strategy at the intersection of clinical science, IP and capital. His experience includes R&D agreements, licensing and option arrangements, complex collaborations, joint ventures, M&A, commercial agreements and structured financings, including equity, convertible debt, credit facilities, royalty transactions and other IP-driven financings. He regularly advises on cross-border transactions with counterparties across the U.S., Europe and Asia.
Paresh partners with legal, business development, finance and scientific cross-functional teams to drive deal strategy, structure, valuation and risk allocation. He advises C-suites and boards throughout the product life cycle, translating complex scientific and financial dynamics into actionable legal and business strategies.
