Overview

Zachary Melvin is an associate in the Litigation Department of Paul Hastings and is based in the firm’s New York office. His practice focuses on securities litigation, corporate governance litigation and general complex commercial litigation.

Zach has experience representing companies and individuals in both state and federal court across a range of matters and issues, including securities fraud and market manipulation claims, fiduciary duty cases, government and regulatory enforcement defense, bankruptcy litigation, contract disputes, and contested out-of-court restructuring and real estate transactions. He handles both plaintiff- and defense-side cases, and has both bench and jury trial experience in federal court.

Zach received his law degree from New York University School of Law in 2022, where he served as a staff editor on NYU’s Moot Court Board, represented NYU in IISL’s Manfred Lachs Space Law Moot Court Competition and coached NYU’s ABA National Appellate Advocacy Competition team. He earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in both Economics and Multi-Platform Journalism from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2017.

Zach is admitted to practice law in New York.
