
Overview
Tom Murdoch is an associate in the London office of Paul Hastings. Tom’s practice focuses on antitrust and competition law, along with other regulatory matters, including foreign investment and national security related filings.
Tom advises clients on merger control, foreign direct investment and national security filings in connection with significant corporate transactions, including public company, private equity-led and restructuring matters. His experience spans a range of sectors, including industrials, financial technology and regulatory software, music and entertainment, pharmaceuticals and other regulated industries.
Prior to joining Paul Hastings, Tom trained and qualified at another U.S. firm in London.

- ITT Inc. in its US$4.775 billion acquisition of SPX FLOW.
- Filtration Group Corporation, a Madison Industries company, in connection with its US$9.25 billion acquisition by Parker-Hannifin Corporation.
- XTEND in connection with its US$1.5 billion business combination with JFB Construction Holdings
- UniFirst in connection with its US$5.5 billion acquisition by Cintas.
- Moody’s in the sale of its Regulatory Reporting and Asset and Liability Management Solutions business to Regnology.
- Primary Wave Music in connection with its acquisition of Kobalt.
- Alpha Wave Global in the acquisition of a 50.1% stake by IHC’s AI-enabled global financial services platform Judan Financial, a platform with over AED 870 billion in assets under management.
- Egeria and its affiliate Duravent Group in securing a significant strategic growth investment from Bain Capital.
- Abry Partners in its strategic partnership with AA Ireland.
- A large corporate vet group on the CMA’s market investigation into veterinary services for household pets in the U.K.
- A leading pharmaceutical company in relation to a CMA Phase I merger control clearance.
- Multiple National Security and Investment Act filings in connection with transactions involving regulated businesses.
- Tom has also supported U.S. antitrust workstreams, including merger control, Second Request processes and related litigation matters.
