Benefits Team

It’s Summer and you want to spend some time in the sun, but you’re worried about those harmful UV rays for your eyes.  Here are a few reminders on the importance of sunglasses.

  1. Sun Protection –purchase sunglasses marked 100% UV Protection.

  2. Barrier Protection – the more coverage from the sunglasses, the less sun damage inflicted on the eyes.

  3. Glare Reduction – light reflections can be very distracting and impede vision. Polarized sunglasses are effective at cutting glare off reflective surfaces.

  4. Vision Improvement – tinted lenses can increase contrast which is useful for athletes who play sports (e.g., baseball and golf).

  5. Protection for All – when you pick out your new shades, remember to get some for the kids as well.
