Amendment to the Law Concerning the Stabilization of Employment of the Aged

On April 1, 2006, the Amendment to the Law Concerning the Stabilization of Employment of the Aged took effect in Japan. The Amendment reflects the government’s effort to address the growing demographic pressure on its social security system caused by the country’s rapidly aging population and low birthrates.
