On March 24, 2010, the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) issued Administrators Interpretation No. 2010-1 (Interpretation), which concludes that employees who perform the typical duties of a mortgage loan officer employee do not qualify as exempt administrative employees under section 13(a)(1) of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
