
Overview
Ahson Azmat is of counsel in the Antitrust practice and Litigation Department of Paul Hastings and is based in the firm’s New York office. Ahson was a partner at another international law firm before joining Paul Hastings and has considerable experience with antitrust and securities law in state and federal court at both the trial and appellate levels. He has taken cases to verdict in jury trials in a variety of jurisdictions in multidistrict class actions, taken direct and cross-exams in bench trials, and led briefing and discovery in complex commercial cases across the country for private equity firms, hedge funds and Fortune 500 companies. Ahson has particular expertise working with expert witnesses in antitrust, securities and complex commercial matters and has advised clients in cross-border disputes across the full life cycle of litigation.

- Biopharmaceutical firms in pay-for-delay antitrust MDLs in New York, Chicago and Virginia, including complete defense victories in jury trial in a Sherman Act lawsuit in the Northern District of Illinois.
- Successfully defended directors and officers of an AI-based energy investment firm in consolidated securities class actions in California and Delaware state and federal courts, winning multiple motions to dismiss.
