Overview

Anthony Hilbert is an associate in the Corporate Department and is based in the firm's Houston office. His practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, private equity and capital markets transactions. Prior to joining Paul Hastings, Anthony was part of the corporate group of an international law firm.

Anthony has represented financial and strategic buyers and sellers in public and private mergers and acquisitions, capital markets transactions and corporate governance matters. He has experience representing clients across industries, including in traditional and renewable energy, oilfield services, software, manufacturing, shipping and real estate. Anthony serves as the vice chair of the Houston Bar Association Corporate Counsel Section and writes about legal developments in the energy space.

Anthony received his law degree, with Honors, from Emory University School of Law in 2019. He earned a Master of Arts degree and Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 2015 and 2013, respectively. Anthony is admitted to practice in Texas and Georgia.

  • Genesis Energy (NYSE:GEL) in the sale of its soda ash manufacturing and related operations to an indirect affiliate of WE Soda Ltd at an implied enterprise value of $1.425 billion.
  • Aquadrill LLC in its approximately $1 billion all-stock merger with Seadrill Limited.
  • Innovex, a leading provider of mission-critical technologies and services across the well lifecycle for the oil and gas industry, in its merger with Dril-Quip.
  • Eagle Bulk Shipping (NASDAQ:EGLE), one of the world’s largest owner-operators within the midsize dry bulk vessel segment, in the completion of its all-stock merger with Star Bulk Carriers Corp.
  • Diamondback Energy (NASDAQ:FANG) in various transactions, including its acquisition of all publicly-held common units of Rattler Midstream LP and its acquisition of all leasehold interests and related assets of Guidon Operating LLC for 10.63 million shares of Diamondback common stock and $375 million cash.
  • Private equity firm in a $700 million recapitalization of an existing entity with operations focused on the Permian Basin in Texas.
  • Private company shareholders in their $87 million strategic sale to Northwest Pipe Company.
  • Ledge Lounger management in a majority recapitalization of Ledge Lounger, Inc. with Summit Park and Digital Fuel.
  • Macquarie Equipment Capital in connection with its joint venture and preferred equity investment in a food-grade PET manufacturer.
