
Overview
Ashley Kaplan is of counsel in the Antitrust and Competition practice of Paul Hastings and is based in the firm's Los Angeles office. Drawing on more than a decade of experience in both government enforcement and private practice, she represents clients in high-stakes private antitrust litigation, government investigations and government enforcement actions.
Prior to joining Paul Hastings, Ashley served as a trial attorney in the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice. While at the Department of Justice, Ashley served in key roles on litigation and trial teams, including the United States' lawsuit against Apple for alleged monopolistic conduct and the United States' challenges of the mergers of UnitedHealth Group and Change Healthcare, and Hewlett-Packard Enterprise and Juniper Networks. Ashley also led and supported significant investigations into potentially anticompetitive mergers and conduct across a broad range of industries, including the telecommunications, technology, media and sports industries. Ashley received multiple Assistant Attorney General's Awards of Distinction for her contributions.
Earlier in her career, Ashley practiced in the litigation department of a prominent Los Angeles law firm, where she represented clients in private antitrust litigation, class actions and government enforcement actions, involving allegations of price fixing, monopolization and other alleged anticompetitive conduct in the consumer products and pharmaceutical sectors.
Following law school, Ashley clerked for the Honorable George H. King of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California and for the Honorable Scott M. Matheson, Jr. of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit.
