Overview
カリフォルニア州弁護士鈴木薫彦は東京事務所創設者であり、当事務所のアジア・パシフィック・グループ共同代表。主な取扱分野は国際金融業務及び企業取引等に重点をおくビジネス法務。これまでの業務は多岐にわたり、企業及び不動産金融業務、企業合併・買収、またトヨタとGM間、東芝とIBM間、日立とFiat間などの大規模な合弁事業及び戦略提携などを手がける。当事務所ファイナンス・プラクティス・グループのメンバーとしても、米日企業に関する企業買収ファイナンス、資産有価証券取得ファイナンス、不動産投融資等を含む多種多様な貸付業務に従事。日米の文化と言語に精通した幅広い知識を生かし、日米企業間におけるビジネス業務をより円滑にする橋渡し的な業務を長年にわたり行う。
1971年ハーバード大学を優等で卒業。1975年ハーバード大学ロースクールにおいて法学博士号取得後、当事務所に入所。南カリフォルニア大学にて2年間、日本法について教鞭をとり、また、成蹊大学法学部でアメリカ法の講義を担当し た経験を持つ。現在は東京事務所とロサンジェルス事務所に席をおき、両事務所を頻繁に往復している。

- A joint venture between Hitachi Construction Machinery and Deere & Company for a construction equipment manufacturing in Sao Paulo, Brazil
Engagement & Publications
- Taught a Japanese law course for two years at the University of Southern California Law Center and, for a semester, an American law course at the Law Faculty of Seikei University in Tokyo, Japan
- Lectured before the American Law Institute-American Bar Association, the International Fiscal Association, and other U.S. and Japanese audiences
Involvement
- Co-founder of The Century of the Pacific Conference, a project to establish personal communications among young business and professional leaders in Los Angeles and Tokyo
- Served as an editor for Japan Transaction Guide (published by Matthew Bender & Company) a comprehensive publication on Japanese law in the United States
- Served as the vice chair of the Guide Dog and Service Dog Association of Japan since its foundation
