Nathan Gimpel is an associate in the Corporate practice of Paul Hastings and is based in the firm's Chicago office. His practice includes the representation of a variety of clients through both in- and out-of-court debt restructurings, complex business reorganizations, corporate governance issues, insolvency matters, the sale of distressed assets, and capital raises. He has considerable experience representing debtors in chapter 11 reorganizations.
Mr. Gimpel has assisted numerous large companies during chapter 11 cases and out-of-court restructurings, including Ally Financial, Caesars Entertainment, Edison Mission Energy, Fisker Automotive, Indiana Toll Road, Patriot Coal, Quintana Energy Services, Seadrill, Sherwin Alumina, Source Interlink, Ultra Petroleum, Westmoreland Coal Company, and YRC Worldwide. Mr. Gimpel has also represented numerous opportunistic investors, private-equity firms, and hedge funds in financing transactions and the acquisition of distressed assets.
Mr. Gimpel earned his J.D. from The University of Chicago Law School, where he was a member of The University of Chicago Law Review.
