Paul Hastings LLP advised the arrangers on the debt financing for TPG’s proposed acquisition of Techem, a German energy service provider, from Partners Group.

The transaction values Techem at an enterprise value of around €6.7 billion, ranking among the largest deals between private equity groups in Europe this year.

The company will be acquired though TPG Rise Climate, the dedicated climate investing strategy of TPG’s global impact investing platform, with global investor GIC taking a minority stake.

Global Finance partners Ross Anderson, Mo Nurmohamed, and Patrick Bright led the Paul Hastings team, which also included partner Dr. J. Melchior Raiser, and associates Bernard Lung, Fabio Pazzini, and Haris Ahmed.

The transaction is expected to close in H1 2025, subject to customary conditions and regulatory approvals. More information on the transaction can be found here.
