Overview

Paresh Kumar is of counsel in the Life Sciences Transactions practice at Paul Hastings and is based in Boston. He brings a hybrid clinical, financial and legal perspective to advising life sciences companies and investors on strategic transactions and corporate matters.

Paresh has over a decade of experience across venture capital, private equity, pharmaceutical R&D finance and legal practice. He has served as an investor with board observer roles at multiple biotech companies and worked in R&D finance at a global pharmaceutical company. He supports executive teams and boards on deal strategy, valuation and risk allocation across corporate and IP driven transactions for companies ranging from venture backed preclinical biotechs to commercial stage biopharma.

His work focuses on high impact transactions, including R&D collaborations, licensing and option arrangements, joint ventures, M&A, commercial agreements and structured financings such as equity, convertible debt, credit facilities and royalty transactions. He works closely with cross-functional teams across legal, business development, finance and technical departments to execute these matters. 

Paresh advises senior leadership and boards across the product development lifecycle. He frames complex issues, drives decision-making and converts scientific and financial inputs into actionable legal and business strategies.
