Overview

Syed M. Q. Ali Khan is an associate in the Employment Law practice and is based in the firm’s Los Angeles office.

Employment Litigation and Labor Representation: Mr. Ali Khan represents employers in all aspects of employment law and labor relations. This includes single-plaintiff lawsuits, representative actions and enforcement actions, covering a wide gamut of substantive law: wage and hour, discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, harassment, and employee mobility and trade secrets. He also regularly assists clients with representation case hearings before the National Labor Relations Board.

Worker Classification: Mr. Ali Khan has counseled companies large and small on worker classification issues including in relation to the ABC test. Worker classification is an area of academic study for Mr. Ali Khan, having been published in the Hastings Business Law Journal on the subject.

International Employment: In addition to his domestic employment litigation and counseling practice, Mr. Ali Khan has experience advising on international employment matters, including global expansion and compliance efforts of large companies and startups, and is well-equipped to collaborate with the firm’s 140-country network of employment and employee benefits practitioners to assist in managing a global workforce.
