Overview

Inna Coleman is a Senior Associate in the Investigations and White Collar Defense practice of Paul Hastings and is based in the firm's New York office. Ms. Coleman has a wide range of experience representing entities, their boards, and individuals across various industries in internal investigations, government inquiries, and criminal and parallel civil litigation. Ms. Coleman represents clients in court and in connection with matters before the Department of Justice, the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Commodities Futures Trading Commission, the Federal Reserve, and other domestic and foreign regulatory agencies.

Ms. Coleman is a member of the bar of the State of New York, and the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern District of New York.

  • Served as pro bono counsel on behalf of the Brooklyn District Attorney's Office to successfully brief and argue an appeal of conviction before the Second Department of the Supreme Court of the State of New York, Appellate Division

  • Served as an attorney mentor for the Justice Resource Center, training and preparing New York City public school students for a citywide moot court competition

  • Representing multiple executives of a global financial institution in connection with parallel investigations brought by domestic and foreign regulators regarding money laundering and bribery allegations

  • Representing multiple FinTech apps in investigations by the NY Department of Financial Services and other regulators on issues involving online lending, interest rates categorized as "tips," monthly memberships at lending companies, and other consumer fees

  • Representing a former senior officer of a public company throughout all phases of a criminal trial in the District of Delaware involving allegations of accounting and securities fraud, as well as in connection with SEC and related civil litigations

  • Represented a major construction company in a DOJ fraud investigation related to the company's billing practices

  • Represented a foreign exchange trader in connection with an investigation by the DOJ into alleged currency market manipulation related to swaptions trading

  • Represented a multinational Latin American conglomerate with U.S. operations in connection with an internal audit committee investigation relating to accrual accounting issues and whistleblower allegations
