Jay Schuffenhauer is an energy regulatory and litigation associate at Paul Hastings and is based in the firm's Washington, D.C. office.
Jay assists clients with a broad range of matters, including litigation before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, Federal Power Act ratemaking proceedings, generator interconnection disputes, and participation in notice-and-comment rulemaking under the Administrative Procedure Act. Jay also has particularly strong experience working alongside expert economic witnesses and working on matters involving electric cooperatives.
Jay received his J.D., cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center in 2021, where he served as Director of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Team and as Assistant Notes Editor for the Georgetown Law Technology Review. He received a B.A. in Economics, summa cum laude, from Vanderbilt University in 2018.
Jay is admitted to practice law in the District of Columbia.
