Overview

Michael McCrane, Ph.D. is a technical advisor in the Litigation practice of Paul Hastings and is based in the firm’s New York office. Dr. McCrane’s work focuses primarily on patent litigation in the area of life sciences, encompassing the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry. He joins Paul Hastings after working as a postdoctoral fellow at the Johns Hopkins University.

Dr. McCrane has considerable research experience and technical expertise in the fields of organic synthesis, small molecule characterization, and chromatography. He has attended and presented his work in several national and regional scientific conferences. Dr. McCrane has also been involved in mentoring undergraduate students in chemical research.

Dr. McCrane received his doctoral degree in Chemistry from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2012, with a focus on using organic and analytical chemistry to study DNA alkylation.

He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of Delaware in 2005.

Dr. McCrane is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
