Matthew Poxon is a partner in the Corporate M&A practice of Paul Hastings and is based in the firm’s London office.
Matthew has a broad corporate practice with a particular focus on both public and private mergers and acquisitions. His practice also covers private equity transactions, including private acquisitions and disposals, public takeovers and joint ventures, as well as equity capital markets and governance matters.
Matthew has been recognized by Chambers UK and recommended by Legal 500 for Corporate/M&A.
Matthew is particularly sought after for transactions involving public company complexities.

- The shareholders of The Co-Operative Bank on the £780 million sale to Coventry Building Society.
- City Football Group, the owner and operator of football clubs across the world including Manchester City and New York City FC, on multiple matters including the $500 million investment by US private equity firm Silver Lake, valuing the business at $4.8 billion.
- STG Partners on the take-private of Gresham Technologies plc, a bespoke software company in the data integrity and control, banking integration, payments and cash management sectors.
- A&K Travel Group, the Heritage Group-owned travel group, on the acquisition of two luxury cruise vessels, Crystal Serenity and Crystal Symphony and certain Crystal Cruises intellectual property in order to relaunch the cruise line.
- Theta Bidco Ltd (a special purpose vehicle owned by IHC Industrial Holding LLC and Tasheel Holding Group LLC) on the acquisition of Arena Events Group plc, a leading turnkey events solutions provider, by way of court-sanctioned scheme of arrangement.
- Six BidCo Ltd (a wholly-owned indirect subsidiary of investment funds managed by PineBridge Benson Elliot) on the acquisition of Sigma Capital Group plc, a leading provider of Private Rented Sector housing in the UK.
- Masimo LHC Limited (a wholly-owned indirect subsidiary of Masimo Corporation) on the recommended cash acquisition of the entire issued and to be issued share capital of LidCo Group plc.
- Hanwha Systems Co., Ltd., a South Korean shareholder in OneWeb, on the proposed combination with Paris-based satellite operator Eutelsat.
- Leading on multiple (announced and unannounced) confidential Public M&A deals, including:
- possible acquisition of a UK-listed public opinion and data company;
- possible acquisition of a UK-listed sports team;
- possible acquisition of a UK-listed REIT; and
- aborted acquisition of a UK-listed B2B information services business.
