The National Law Journal Recognizes Kenneth Breen as a Criminal Law Trailblazer

March 31, 2020

Breen, KennethNew York – The National Law Journal named Kenneth Breen to its annual list Trailblazers in Criminal Law, which honors innovators and thought leaders who have made significant marks on the practice, policy, and technological advancement in their sector.

Ken was noted for his success in getting a split jury verdict and no jail time sentence for client Matt Connolly in the Deutsche Bank LIBOR manipulation case, when the prosecutors were seeking a prison term of 15 years, as well as for his previous work as a federal prosecutor.

Regarding the practice of criminal and regulatory enforcement law in the future, Ken noted that the DOJ and SEC reprioritized their agendas, which has caused state regulators to become more active and focused on technology companies, noting “I think this is likely to continue and intensify, particular with financial technology companies. These companies are attention-grabbing and going after them is attention-grabbing for prosecutors as well.”

Ken’s Trailblazer profile can be read on page 2, here.
