Halifax Media Holdings LLC, an investment group headquartered in Daytona Beach, Florida, formed five new subsidiaries to acquire Freedom Eastern North Carolina Communications, Inc., a Delaware corporation, Freedom Shelby Star, Inc., a Delaware corporation, The Times News Publishing Company, a North Carolina corporation, Florida Freedom Newspapers, Inc., a Florida corporation, and Gaston Gazette, LLP, a North Carolina limited liability partnership.
