March 01, 2006

Los Angeles, CA (March 1, 2006) Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker LLP (Paul Hastings), a leading international law firm, is pleased to announce that Anton Mack has been appointed Managing Director of Diversity and Global Talent.  In his new role, Mack will be responsible for Paul Hastings diversity, pro bono, law school relations, and talent acquisition efforts in the United States, Asia, and Europe.

As a global law firm, diversity at Paul Hastings reflects our commitment to recruit, develop, and advance the best legal talent and actively contribute to the business and diversity success of our clients, commented Gregory M. Nitzkowski, Managing Partner of Paul Hastings, in making the announcement.  Antons appointment reinforces our goal to set the standard for the worlds leading law firms.

Recognized as a leader within the legal community, Paul Hastings attorneys and management reflect the commitment to diversity of their clients. In 2005, Minority Law Journal placed Paul Hastings among the Top 25 Law Firms in its annual Diversity Scorecard, rising forty places in one year. Ethnic, gender, and sexual orientation diversity can be found in nearly one-quarter of Paul Hastings partners, and more than one-half of associates and summer associates in the U.S. offices of Paul Hastings.

For years, Paul Hastings has raised the bar for law firms throughout the world in terms of global diversity and talent acquisition, noted Charles J. Hamilton, Jr., Paul Hastings Diversity Policy and Program Committee Chair and At-Large Diversity Partner.  In the last few years, Anton has produced an impressive record leading our global recruitment efforts, and we are fortunate to retain his expertise and experience to expand our global diversity and inclusion initiatives, pro bono programming, and the seamless integration of our international offices.

Mack joined Paul Hastings in 2001, and as Managing Director of Attorney Recruiting, he played a key role in doubling the percentage of diversity representation in new summer associates and associates, as well as establishing more than 20 innovative alliance programs with major law schools, such as the Paul Hastings Corporate and Securities Chair at UCLA; Paul, Hastings & Janofsky Scholarship Fund at Harvard; Paul Hastings Best Brief Award at the University of Virginia; and the Disney/Paul Hastings Fellows at USC.
Prior to joining Paul Hastings, Mack served as an admissions officer for Johns Hopkins University and admissions dean at Loyola Law School, where he was instrumental in advancing diversity in legal education. A recognized national leader and former board member and committee chair for such organizations as NALP (The National Association for Law Placement) and LSAC (Law School Admissions Council), Mack received his BA from Johns Hopkins and a graduate certificate from Harvard University.
