Yar Chaikovsky Named Law360 Technology MVP

, global co-chair of the Paul Hastings Intellectual Property practice, has been named one of Law360’s 2017 Technology MVPs. Law360 received more than 1,000 submissions for the annual MVP awards, with the winners selected on the basis of their “successes in high-stakes litigation, record-breaking deals and complex global matters.”

Paul Hastings Intellectual Property litigators have now been recognized as Law360 MVPs in four consecutive years:

Yar Chaikovsky was recognized as a Technology MVP for successfully concluding six years of litigation for Trend Micro against Intellectual Ventures, with the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit affirming a 2015 win. In 2017, Chaikovsky concluded the chapter by successfully urging the court to order Intellectual Ventures to pay Trend Micro’s attorney fees. Law360 also recognized Chaikovsky for his successful defense of HTC in a patent infringement suit, successfully invalidating eight patents and more than 200 claims, the most claims to be invalidated at once under the Supreme Court’s 2014 Alice decision.

In 2017, the Daily Journal named Chaikovsky one of the Top Intellectual Property lawyers in California. Last year, he was recognized by The National Law Journal as a

for his representation of Trend Micro, and as a for a successful defense of AT&T, which was severed and stayed from litigation initiated by Cellular Communications Equipment against Apple and other cellular network providers.
