
Overview
Ben Gifford is an associate in the Litigation Department at Paul Hastings and is based in the firm’s New York office. Prior to joining Paul Hastings, Ben was a senior counsel at the Institute for Constitutional Advocacy and Protection, where he litigated a broad range of constitutional and statutory issues on behalf of individual, organizational and governmental clients. Ben has briefed and argued cases in state and federal court, at the trial level and on appeal.
Ben previously served as a law clerk to Chief Justice John G. Roberts, Jr. of the United States Supreme Court, Chief Judge Robert A. Katzmann of the Second Circuit Court of Appeals and Judge Jed S. Rakoff of the Southern District of New York. Ben also worked as an associate at another international law firm.
Ben graduated magna cum laude from Harvard Law School, where he was an articles editor on the Harvard Law Review. He received his undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College, where he graduated first in his class. His scholarship has appeared in the Harvard Law Review, Stanford Law Review, Journal of Criminal Law & Criminology and American Journal of Criminal Law.
