Overview

Beth Gordie is a partner in the Real Estate practice at Paul Hastings and is based in the firm’s Century City office. Beth advises clients on a broad range of land use, environmental and infrastructure matters, with a particular focus on project entitlement, permitting and regulatory compliance.

She counsels landowners, developers and institutional investors on all stages of the development process, from initial permitting and entitlement strategy through approvals, including navigating complex local, state and federal regulatory frameworks and incorporating legal, political, community and public relations issues. Her practice includes guidance on local planning and zoning regulations, the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), National Historic Preservation Act and California Subdivision Map Act, among other environmental and land use statutes.

Beth’s experience spans a variety of real estate and infrastructure projects, including stadiums, entertainment complexes, hospitals, transportation infrastructure, campus master plans, hotels and mixed-use and multifamily developments. She also advises on solar facilities and major transmission lines.

A registered lobbyist, Beth maintains deep relationships with public agencies in the Los Angeles region and state of California. She brings valuable insight from her involvement with the Central City Association of Los Angeles as the co-chair of its Housing, Land Use & Development Committee and her community work serving on the board of Students Run LA.
