
Overview
Melissa C. Rake is an associate in the Employment Law Department of Paul Hastings and is based in the firm’s San Francisco office. She represents employers in all aspects of employment law and labor relations in both single-plaintiff and class action matters, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, employee-benefits, and wage-and-hour disputes.
Ms. Rake received her J.D., in 2021 from the University of California, Hastings College of Law, where she served as a Brief-Editor, Board Member, and Student Coach for the Hastings Moot Court Team. She also served as the Vice President of the Hastings Intellectual Property Association and was a member of the Hastings Women's Law Society and Pilipinx American Law Society.
Ms. Rake earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Studies with emphasis in Chemistry in 2017 from the University of California, Santa Barbara, where she competed on the NCAA Division I Track and Field Team. She is a three-time Big West Regional Qualifier and maintains the UCSB school record for the javelin throw.
Ms. Rake is admitted to practice law in California.
