Nika Montenero is an associate in the Financial Services - Investigations, Regulation, and Litigation group at Paul Hastings, and is based in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office.

Ms. Montenero’s practice focuses on advising clients, including banks, mortgage companies, auto lenders, fintech companies, commercial lenders, and investors on a variety of regulatory, licensing, compliance, and transactional matters. She also assists clients with product development and ongoing compliance requirements, as well as regulatory examinations, investigations, and enforcement actions.

In addition, Ms. Montenero advises private equity clients in transactions with financial services companies on federal and state licensing and regulatory requirements.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Montenero was an associate at a financial services law firm and a corporate counsel at a fintech peer-to-peer lending company.

Ms. Montenero received her J.D. from the George Washington University Law School in 2018 and her B.A. from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2015 (Phi Beta Kappa).
