Overview

Tim Kopcial is of counsel in the Structured Credit practice at Paul Hastings, based in the firm’s New York office. His practice focuses on capital markets, structured finance and asset-backed lending transactions, with a particular emphasis on fintech and specialty finance platforms.

Tim represents fintech companies, private credit funds, banks and other financial institutions in a broad range of financing transactions, including warehouse credit facilities, asset-backed financings, forward flow arrangements and other structured credit transactions secured by consumer, small business and specialty finance assets. His practice includes advising on cross-border financing transactions and supporting digital lending platforms operating in emerging markets.

Prior to joining Paul Hastings, Tim served in senior roles on the capital markets and legal teams at a global fintech company, where he led the structuring and execution of debt facilities and other financing transactions supporting its lending platform across multiple emerging market jurisdictions. Earlier in his career, he practiced at international law firms, advising financial institutions, issuers and investors on structured finance and capital markets transactions.
