London – Paul Hastings LLP has advised on the launch of new seed VC fund, Pact, with the aim of backing early-stage startups across Europe. The fund counts actress Anne Hathaway among its LPs and will support mission-driven startups in the “ABC” categories of access (economic inclusion), betterment (personal and professional well-being), and climate.

Bringing both domestic and emerging markets operational experience to the early-stage VC landscape in the UK, Pact is led by three female partners, Tong Gu, Reem Mobassaleh Wyndham and Monik Pham, whose past roles include VC positions at ADV and Fuel Ventures.

Pact’s first investment is in London-based Growth Kitchen, which uses data insights to launch sustainable food brands.

The Paul Hastings team was led by London-based Private Funds partners Diala Minott and Ted Craig. The work was conducted on a pro bono basis.
