Overview
Will Reily is of counsel in the Financial Restructuring group at Paul Hastings and is based in the firm's Chicago office. He represents secured and unsecured lenders, bondholders, debtors and other stakeholders in Chapter 11 cases, out-of-court restructurings and private credit workouts. When positions harden and value starts to leak, Will gets deals closed. As one client told Chambers, he "herded cats to close a transaction that preserved significant value for a number of stakeholders."
In Chapter 11, his work centers on debtor-in-possession and exit financings, asset sales and credit bids. Out of court, he negotiates restructuring support agreements, debt-for-equity exchanges, distressed acquisitions and liability management transactions, and he advises creditors in restructuring-driven litigation. He also handles cross-border insolvencies and was selected to the International Insolvency Institute's NextGen Class XIV, a global program for the field's leading young restructuring practitioners. Will's recent representations span the energy, transportation, hospitality, retail, healthcare and finance sectors.
