Christopher Wolff Appointed Chair of Paul Hastings Frankfurt Office

Frankfurt, Germany (April 12, 2012) - Paul, Hastings (Europe) LLP, a leading global law firm, today announced that Dr. Christopher Wolff has been appointed as Chair of its Frankfurt office. He takes over from Dr. Peter Smeets who stepped down from the role.

Dr. Wolff's appointment follows a number of strategic appointments in 2012 made by Paul Hastings in Frankfurt, including a team of Corporate partners with expertise in cross-border transactions and corporate reorganisations, including Dr. Regina Engelstaedter, Dr. Jan Gernoth and Dr Ali Sahin, as well as the arrival of Karl Balz to the Leveraged Finance and Capital Markets practice, highlighting the firm's commitment to growing its German practice.

Dr. Wolff is a partner in the Corporate practice of the Paul Hastings Frankfurt office. He advises clients on all types of mergers and acquisitions and distressed asset transactions (debt/equity) and in insolvency related situations. He also advises on private equity, venture capital and corporate restructuring transactions. Dr. Wolff has represented clients on a number of notable transactions including advising the senior lender in the insolvency of Karstadt in its role as lender to High Street as Karstadt's landlord, on the acquisition of Hahn Gasfedern for Kaydon and MÄC GEIZ for Austrian MTH Retail Group, and on the restructuring of de Sede Group for Capvis Equity.
