Elena Baca Named to Daily Journal’s 2020 Top 100 Lawyers in California

The Daily Journal has named

, Global Chair of Paul Hastings’ Employment Law practice, to its 2020 listing of Top Lawyers in California. The feature recognizes the best California lawyers doing cutting-edge legal work in their field.

Ms. Baca has repeatedly been named as one of California’s “Top Women Lawyers” and as one of California’s “Top Labor and Employment Attorneys” by the Los Angeles Daily Journal. The publication noted Ms. Baca’s defense work for Gilead Sciences, Inc., and its subsidiary Kite Pharma, Inc., (which develops cancer treatments) against claims of sex discrimination and retaliation by a former Kite IT employee. The arbitrator issued the Final Award, denying all claims asserted by claimant—a huge victory for Kite and Gilead. Ms. Baca was also noted for leading the firm’s Employment group in assisting employers with navigating new federal legislation, an evolving regulatory landscape and other challenges presented by the current COVID-19 pandemic.
