Paul Hastings Advises China Media Capital on Acquisition of Star China TV

Shanghai (January 6, 2014) – Paul Hastings LLP, a leading global law firm, announced today that it represented China Media Capital (CMC) in its acquisition of a 47% stake in Star China TV from 21st Century Fox, the joint venture partner of CMC. CMC, the Chinese media and entertainment fund, invested alongside the broadcaster’s management team.

Star China operates three 24-hour Mandarin channels: Xing Kong, Xing Kong International and Channel [V] Mainland China, as well as the Fortune Star Chinese movie library, and produces top-ranked prime time shows such as Voice of China.

Paul Hastings has advised CMC on a number of transactions, including its joint venture with DreamWorks Animation.
