Paul Hastings’ IP Practice Wins Hatch-Waxman Litigation Firm of the Year at LMG Life Sciences Awards

New York – Paul Hastings LLP, a leading global law firm, announced today that the firm’s Intellectual Property practice was honored at the 2020 LMG Life Sciences Awards as the Hatch-Waxman Litigation Firm of the Year - Branded. For Hatch-Waxman Litigation Firm of the Year, LMG Life Sciences cited the firm for representing Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma Corporation in a Hatch-Waxman dispute opposite multiple generic challengers seeking to market versions of the client’s products Invokana and Invokamet. The matter involves novel issues related to obviousness and double-patenting.

The firm was also active for Adamas, defending the client from a generic challenge related to flagship product Gocovri, its sole FDA-approved drug. Other key cases involved Sucampo, Johnson & Johnson subsidiary Actelion, and Merck.

The awards were based on the research conducted for the 2020 edition of LMG Life Sciences, and categories corresponded to the four main practice areas detailed in the publication.

This year’s awards was celebrated via a virtual ceremony on September 23 in New York City. The event was comprised of a live presentation by LMG Life Sciences managing editor Chris Adams, winners acceptance speeches, Hall of Fame 2020 pronouncement, and a keynote presentation. The presentation was open to in-house counsel and private practitioners operating in Life Sciences industries.
