Paul Hastings LLP advised Alunorte, an alumina refinery, and Mineração Paragominas, a bauxite miner, as offtakers on the financing of a wind farm in northeast Brazil led by Hydro Rein, the renewable energy division of Norway's Norsk Hydro, and Green Investment Group (GIG), a specialist investor within Australia's Macquarie Asset Management.

The 465 MW Feijão project, which will have 10 wind power plants, will be the first renewable energy project in Brazil to be financed in U.S. dollars by commercial banks without the involvement of a development bank. Hydro Rein owns 49.9% of Feijão and GIG has 50.1%.
